بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
Terjemah: Dengan nama Allah Yang Maha Pengasih, Maha Penyayang.
Translation: In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
تَبَّتْ يَدَآ اَبِى لَهَبٍ وَّتَبَّ
Terjemah: 1. Binasa tangan-tangan Abu Lahab dan benarlah ia binasa.
Translation: 1. May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he.
مَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُ مَالُهٗ وَمَا كَسَبَ
Terjemah: 2. Tidaklah berfaedah baginya hartanya dan apa yang ia usahakan.
Translation: 2. His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.
سَيَصْلٰى نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ
Terjemah: 3. Ia akan masuk ke dalam api yang bergejolak (dahsyat).
Translation: 3. He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame.
وَّامْرَأَتُهٗ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ
Terjemah: 4. Dan (begitu juga) istrinya, pembawa kayu bakar.
Translation: 4. And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood.
فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍ
Terjemah: 5. Di lehernya ada tali dari sabut yang dipintal.
Translation: 5. Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.
